2006 Apfa Annual Ambrose Golf
Day
The Australian Print
Finishers Association (Apfa) have made their mark on the Australian social
calendar by holding their Inaugural Ambrose Golf Day on Monday 8th May at
Rosanna Gold Club in Melbourne.
The day commenced
with finger food and drinks at morning registration where the 62 players got an
opportunity to socialise and form their teams before teeing off shotgun style at
12 noon. |
|
 |
While the weather
stayed dry, there was plenty of thirst quenched on the course thanks to Alf
Puglia (Precision Formecutting) and Gavin Ward’s (CP Gluing) continual drinks
cart service.
After the 18 holes,
teams made their way to the clubhouse for pre dinner drinks where they could
meet up with non-playing guests and indulge in a bit of rest and relaxation and
post game narrative. The gourmet dinner was also a great success with
entertainment by comedians Gavin Ward and The Footy Show’s Andrew Startin.

Apfa’s President
Mathew Powell (CP Gluing) is delighted with the feedback from players and
sponsors alike: “All the feedback to date indicates it was one of the best
golf days that people had been to, so we’re thrilled with the result”.
Committee member
Barry Webster (The Laminating Company) is pleased that so many sponsors got on
board: “it made such a difference to the day – the sponsors all had a really
great time and got to do a lot of networking”. The Apfa would like to thank its
sponsors: Allied Printing Machinery, As New Printing Machinery, Credit Choice,
Converta Machinery, Focus Paper, Heidelberg Australia, KW Doggets, National
Starch, McKenzie Ross Insurance, Muller Martini, Pre Pak Cartons and Seaga
Group. Apfa would also like to thank Heidelberg Australia for donating the
trophies. |

The post event NAGA
Award goes to Craig Huckstep, David Wicks and Tim Eastern who seemed to be
having the most fun despite their result.
Committee member
Sigrid de Castella (Budget Cutting Formes) is looking forward to next year’s
event being the biggest on the printing industry’s social calendar: “we’ve just
negotiated to increase the number of players to 120, so we’ve already started
planning what is undoubtedly going to be a huge day”.
|
Whilst most sponsors
have already expressed their commitment to next year’s event, limited
sponsorship opportunities are still available. If you are interested in
participating in or sponsoring the Apfa’s 2007 Ambrose Golf Day please contact
the
committee.
