2007 Apfa Annual Ambrose Golf
Day
The Australian Print
Finishers Association (Apfa) have again made their mark on the Australian social
calendar by holding their second Annual Ambrose Golf Day on Monday 7th May at
Rosanna Gold Club in Melbourne.
|

|
The event was a
little bigger
than 2006's inaugural event, and commenced with finger food and drinks at morning registration where the
64 players got an
opportunity to socialise and form their teams before teeing off shotgun style at
12 noon.
We couldn't have
asked for better weather - dry, and sunny with a light breeze. The drinks cart
(driven at various stages by Precision Formecutting's Carly Vella, CP Gluing's
Gavin Ward, and Budget Cutting Formes's Sigrid de Castella) was again
appreciated for thirsty participants.
After the 18 holes,
teams made their way to the clubhouse for pre dinner drinks where they could
meet up with non-playing guests and indulge in a bit of rest and relaxation and
post game narrative.
|
|
A sumptuous Gourmet
BBQ dinner of lamb cutlets, Tandoori chicken, porterhouse steak, bratwurst
sausages, and marinated salmon fillets was accompanied by a fresh selection of
Caesar salad, Tuscan salad, and mixed garden salad, a feast fit for a king and
sated the appetites of the hungry golfers. |
|
 |
Evening events
continued with plenty of drinks and discussion before entertainment by funnyman Gavin Ward
(who presented lots of commemorative APFA golf balls to the audience to buy
favour) and
multi-talented singer, songwriter, radio personality and comedian entertainer
Greg Champion from “The Coodabeen Champions” fame presented their wares.
Greg's performance
was particularly great as he serenaded us with many of his infamous football and
cricket tracks and a couple of new ones from his soon to be released album.
Greg's performance
reached its pinnacle when he was joined by APFA president Mathew Powell to sing
"That's
The Thing About Football".
|
After Greg's
performance Mathew reclaimed the stage to introduce Gavin Ward and Trophy
Sponsor Sigrid de Castella of Budget Cutting Formes to present the day's awards.
